Charging
You can charge your LIGHTstern camper at almost any available power source. The main difference lies in how quickly the battery fills up.
Charging cards/apps
We will provide you with a suitable charging card on request. This means you don’t have to worry about contracts with charging electricity providers yourself. We conveniently deduct the costs for your charging current from your deposit and transfer the rest back to your account after your return.
However, if you want to secure the best price, you can set up an account with a charging electricity provider yourself. For longer trips, it may be cheaper to choose a tariff with a basic fee and lower electricity prices.
We will be happy to help you choose the right provider!
Fast charging
When traveling on the highway or on long journeys between two destinations, you charge at fast direct current (DC) chargers. They are now – depending on the vacation destination – available across the board.
The LIGHTstern Polaris charges with up to 115 kW. This allows you to recharge the battery from 10 to 80 % in under 40 minutes .
Regular charging
If you are parked for a longer period of time, for example while hiking or visiting a museum, then you should preferably look for parking spaces with regular public charging stations.
You can charge the LIGHTstern Polaris with 11 kW power on these. This will recharge the battery by 50% in three hours.
Trickle charging
At campsites and pitches with a power supply, you can charge overnight with up to 3.7 kW using the blue CEE plug. Usually 10 A (for 2.3 kW) are available per pitch, sometimes more.
Be sure to let them know at check-in that you would like to charge your electric vehicle at the pitch and find out what power you can draw permanently. Even better would be to find out about your options in advance. If the electricity is normally charged at a flat rate, you can usually get a meter for your socket. This ensures fair billing.
